So now that you know why Cherry TV was created, what about how.  How is the content created and selected for the site?  Today I’ll talk about Cherry Dish.  As far as production goes, it’s pretty basic.

The majority of the women were selected via casting sessions.  A few were recruited, but everyone had to participate in a mock round-table before being picked. The ladies that weren’t recruited had to first fill out an online questionnaire, get interviewed on the phone by a team member and then were invited to the mock session if they seemed appropriate.  And we love our women!!  They are incredibly smart, insightful and brave.  Hopefully you agree.

As for actual production, every few months we go into the studio and tape a batch of discussions.  Each discussion runs anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour.  We then slice up the conversation into individual clips to upload.  Yes, some are better than others (a lot!!!) and I wish we could only post the great ones.  However, since it’s the web we need to upload new content daily, and at this time, we don’t have enough resources to chuck clips that aren’t great.  ((though I do edit boring blather out of some of them))

Due to this method, sometimes a panelist will refer to something not included in that clip.  I guess I could try to edit in the original comment, but that would most likely look really bad … and take forever so I usually just let it go.

Also, in the past we’ve taped two panels on each topic to provide a variety of perspectives.  However, this last time it resulted in way too many clips on subjects that didn’t warrant such dialog (like our 500 clips on pubic hair!).  This practice will be curtailed moving forward.

That’s basically the deal.  Again, when we’re bigger I hope to tape more often, and become a lot more selective about our postings.  For now, we just hope that there’s a nugget of information that you can take away from each one.
